    • 18-29 years old
    • child care experience
    • intermediate level of English (basic knowledge of French can be an advantage)

Au Pair Working Hours in Canada

  • There are no official regulations for au pair  working hours  in Canada. Au pairs usually work up to  40 hours a week , but not more than 12 hours per day.

  • Your host family pays you an  au pair salary , usually a sum between 140 and 200 CAD per week . The exact amount depends on your working hours. If you get sick, you will still receive your au pair salary .

    The au pair has to pay for the  travel expenses.  However, many families pay for the au pair’s return trip if they were satisfied with the au pair. However, the family does not have to pay for your return trip.

    Expenses for the Visa
    The work permit for your stay in Canada ( Workin Holiday Visa ) costs about 110 Euros. You have to transfer this amount to the account of the Canadian embassy.

    The au pair has to pay for the  language classes.
